Lonely Planet Kids – Writing Competition

Is Your Child an Aspiring Writer?

Lonely Planet is launching a new kids blog. They are now looking for entries for this new site. Kids love to tell about places they have been.  Teachers often teach creative writing by having kids write about their summer, their weekend, their vacations etc.

Can your kids tell a good travel story? We’re looking for budding travel writers for our new Lonely Planet Kids blog, which launches next month.

For our latest creative competition, we’re asking young explorers from all around the world to put pen to paper and tell us about a trip they have been on. Apart from the kudos of having their work published online by Lonely Planet Kids, the winner will receive a huge bundle of Lonely Planet Kids books!

Ready to get writing?

Using between 100 and 200 words, tell us about a recent trip you took and why it was memorable for you. Your blog could be about a faraway place, or somewhere closer to home – so long as it was an adventure! We’d also love you to illustrate your writing, using either a drawing or a photograph.

Here are some ideas to get you started:
